Is it possible to wire 2 dvc 4ohm subs to 4ohms in seperate boxes without running wire directly from sub to sub? Asking as I don’t have a dual subwoofer box and I’m curious how I’d go about this.
How did you wire it? I know how to properly do it but that’s with a box for 2 subs. Positive to negative on both subs and do I run the remaining positive and negative to the positive and negative terminals and run a wire from box to box?I used to run two sep boxes for subs in the Acura Integras and 240sx to have room for amps in middle.Sounded just fine. Hey. If one goes bad.. at least the other is in a different chamber and you can still wire it up and have some bass that does just fine/sounds decent and retune
Just Follow the wiring Diagram above.. One Poss Connection and Negative connection from Box to box and to the amplifier. Pretty simple,How did you wire it? Yes you can do a 2 ohm load on these subs, but you will only be wiring up 1 coil per sub and you will only be able to put 1/2 the RMS wattage value on the subs.If they are 500 rms for both coils wired up and you oly use one coil per sub. you will only place 250 rms per sub. Ive burnt one coil out on a DVC sub and have wired down to 1 coil and ran at 1/2 the power to have some Bass till I had enough funds to replace or buy new sub/subs.Is this possible? Not going to try it just curious if it would work
As long as your amplifier is 2 ohm stable bridged in Mono you shouldnt have any issues. You can run 2 ohm Stereo mode also/ Full range- dont expect to hit some serious lows in stereo mode of courseWhat would happen if I connected both boxes to the amp while the subs are wired to 2 ohms?
What amplifier are you using? Brand and Model #What would happen if I connected both boxes to the amp while the subs are wired to 2 ohms?
