Amplifier and subwoofer setup but Distortion occurs

Hello guys

I install pioneer gmd8701 1600w mono block class d amplifier in my car with 2x 12" Pioneer enclosure subwoofer which has 350W RMS each

What I did-> audio signal from stereo to LOC and LOC to Amplifier. I connected two sub at the back of amplifier which has two sets of output, but when I play some music then I got clipping sound even in low volume. I tried to adjust gain and frequency but problem not fixed. Any one could suggest me what I have to do? Please!

I know locs are an integral part of a system with oem headunits, and I see you guys always recommend quality units. But in all the cars that I have used them, I have never had a problem with the signal. Could this be a problem attributed to newer vehicle headunits that have preset eq curves? Btw, I always used inexpensive locs, $12-$20 range.

Yeah, newer cars have factory eq that typically caps on both ends of the frequency spectrum to protect average stock speakers. You can replace speakers but that rolloff is still going to happen. Loc’s don’t de-equalize not to mention some of them really **** and aren’t going to get you the clean signal that amps need to perform optimally

I think it's time to get xp points! I am going to install an amp sub combo in my sister's car, and try Metra loc, then a Audio Control loc. Thanks for the info.

If it’s newer car get this instead, a few bucks more than an audio control loc

You know, I actually have an Rockford Type RF x1 with built in dsp. That little bastard burned out the tweeters from my Blues Audio components. Replaced them with some Boss tweets and it burned them too. Weird deal was that it burned them overnight, not while I was using it. Sounded great though.
