While I agree in spirit I think the disparity is mostly found in skilled vs unskilled labor. Most of the skilled labor in my area make as much if not more than many in office level or management work. It all really depends on which trade you're working in though. There is such a shortage of good skilled trade in California plumbers and electricians can charge $100 an hour plus materials.
That is what the company charges though. You might be right for independent contractors.

Sorry I meant independents charge that or at least some of them do, you can find cheaper but labor rates in California are as ridiculously priced as everything else is in this Godforsaken state. Most of the companies are $120+

Renovated my kitchen in 2018 and I didn't mind paying it (made the wife happy) but I did joke around with a few of the guys that I should get into their line of work. Granite counters and flooring specifically. Hell just the countertops were about 8k installed with an independent contractor.

That is pricey. Half probably went to taxes and insurance. The taxes on private business is getting stupid high. They aren’t just targeting the rich, like so many people believe.

Nope they aren't. I'd like to start my own business but not until I can leave. Hopefully in a few years once I send my daughter off to college I'll be able to get out.

I can't imagine the fear I would have as a parent with a daughter going to college in California.

I pray that she ends up going out of state like she is planning. She plays Softball and is hoping to get a ride either at Georgia Tech or Florida State for it. (Honestly any Southern school with a good Softball team I think she'll be happy with.) She's a freshman this year but has got a really good head on her and is already planning for college. In a much better place than I was at that age.

Mine is attending Northern Arizona U this year. She wanted to go to UCLA, but I thank my stars she decided on Flagstaff Arizona. It’s the most expensive city here in Arizona, but nowhere near anywhere in California. Only a 5 hour drive from home also, so that made it much easier. Not a full ride, even with the max amount scholarships offered there, which she got, but I’m only having to pay 8,000 per year. UCLA would’ve been far more.

I'll be in the same boat in a few years, anywhere but the Northwest, Northeast or California I'm good with. Thats awesome your daughter got some scholarships and you're only paying 8k. I can only hope to be so lucky! No schools in California are worth the price of tuition except for maybe Stanford in one of their Graduate programs. Any undergraduate degree will be cheaper elsewhere.

Pam Bondi, even though she's representing Trump in the impeachment trial, and is from Florida, and has a hard time not coming across as some dumb blonde from Florida who would represent Trump in an impeachment trial, can get the D.

Dem's still can't figure out the Iowa caucus, somehow trying to say Buttigieg is the front runner? They're gonna try to steal it from Bernie again, fracture the voter base (much like what happened in 2016) and Trump will cruise into another 4 years. I'm calling it now with the 2nd Amendment bullshit Northam is trying to pull in Virginia. Virginia will flip red along with a few other vulnerable states (NV/NM/NH come to mind) and Trump will win in a landslide with 320+ electoral.

All Pelosi could do at the end was tear up his speech in an infantile tantrum.
