Diagnosed as type 1 at age 31? Damn that's odd. My buddy's been shooting insulin his whole life.

Apparently it ran in the family and skipped 2 generations and is possible to develop in early adult years.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 5 years back when I was 40. Self inflicted through many years of alcoholism and sheer fatness. finally went to the doctor after nearly collapsing at work and needing help to get home. Scared me to death. I’ve lost 80 pounds to date and feel much better. I drink a few Michelob ultra sometimes, but had to give up the party life.
