Hello,
Lets see if the second time is the charm. I made a post the other day but it was deleted after the server upgrade so here we go again!

This is my first time attempting any sort of audio upgrade in a vehicle and I have gotten as far as purchasing the sub woofer I want and attempting to design a box. I drive a 2004 Nissan Murano and have an American Bass XFL 1222 which is a 1000 watt rms 2 ohm dual voice coil sub that, as I understand, can be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. I still need to purchase an amplifier for this sub which is where i am currently stuck. I have been looking at a Skar Audio lp1000, but Skar reviews are somewhat mixed. Some people say they have some quality amps and just poor customer service, and others just hate them all together. My budget for an amp is unfortunately only about $200, although i would be willing to go over a little if it seems worth the cost. I definitely need an amp with the capability to use a bass knob up at the front of the vehicle and am open to any suggestions you may have. I would also like any advice on wiring kits and wanted to know if I will need to upgrade my alternator immediately or if that can wait until a later date. As far as I know the Murano has a 110 amp alternator stock (this may be incorrect as I didn't find anything stating this specifically but that seems to be the most commonly sold for my vehicle). I anticipate having to upgrade the big 3 too. I have also attached my box design if someone wouldn't mind giving it a once over. I tuned it to 30 Hz, if this is wrong please let me know.

30 is a bit low for my taste not many people hop in and wanna listen to low and slow all day it’s mainly what’s popular My go 2 is usually like 36/38 and even that is low imop as far as Skar was never a fan buttttttt I ordered a 750 watt off amazon about a year ago for the Jeep for like 80$ and that thing hasn’t skipped a beat .. I’m talking 100+ weather to 20 below stock alt bs 4 gauge and no issues
And if u need to upgrade ur alt for 1000 watts which in Skar China terms is a soft 500 there is something wrong .. good luck my man

Thanks for the info and your take on the Skar amp!

I made another box design that is swept. My plan would be to make the opposite side the front based on the picture, that way my seats can still lean back a bit in the vehicle. I also tuned it to a little higher of a frequency. If anyone has some input i would love to hear it!
