Hi there, kinda new into the car audio scene and I just had my first system installed two days ago. It's a Bass Inferno 4-Channel 2000 Watt Amp with two 12" Subs (Image attached).

Currently, the bass is meh and I feel like it could hit a lot harder. Only reason I think this, my ex had 1 12" sub, don't remember the amp, and she had the bass setting on her radio set to -4 and her car rattled. When I asked her how her sub hit that hard, she said she had her amp turned up as high as it could go but to where it still sounded good. Now, to get good bass from my system, the setting on my radio has to be maxed and the volume has to be up a decent amount. What would I properly need to fix on my amp to help it reach better levels? I have done research as well and I know that the gains need to be set properly so there isn't any distortion, which I'm willing to do. I can also provide images of the amp at it's current settings.

Try not posting a sideways pic... Is that your sub amp? Why do you have a high pass crossover turned on? The gain settings on an amp are not a "volume" like she suggests or was using it as. Turn your crossover to LOW and set those knobs to about 10-11 on a clock and switch it to a 2 channel amp and bridge each sub, one off each "amp" and turn your gains ALL the way DOWN before you play any music. Also, you "may" need a bass knob to control that amp, not sure.

Apologize about the photo, I forgot to rotate it before adding it to the thread. And the person who installed it set it there, I assumed they were setting it up to hit hard but it's more, mediocre. I get more bass from the stock speakers in my car compared to the subs.

If you follow what i said above, youll hear what im talking about i promise. Right now, they are being used as mid ranges, not subs.

I will definitely do that tomorrow where there's more daylight. I also have a buddy who will help me so I don't mess anything up, but thank you for the help! I'll report back tomorrow with an update, most likely a good one lol

Make sure this buddy is smarter than the last one ;)
I showed him the first reply you sent and he said "Very good advice, we'll do that tomorrow unless you want to go ahead and do it now", which, I'm not cause he's not at my house currently and I really don't want to screw anything up xD

Good, i hope to hear good news tomorrow ;)
So, we bridged them, set the crossover to low, and fixed the settings on the amp, and it definitely does hit harder. Now I just need to get some aftermarket speakers to put in my doors and my rear deck. Any that you'd recommend? 2013 Chrysler 200 Sedan. I found Rockford Fosgate R1525x2 and the reviews don't seem bad, but a lot of people are saying the bass is not all there compared to some speakers. My budget is somewhat limited so I can't go all out, just looking for decent sound quality and decent bass since the stock speakers aren't keeping up now

They are probably putting them on factory deck power and ALL aftermarket speakers will sound crappy compared to stock speakers, because they need a good amp behind them. Im not familiar with RF to make a recommendation or not, maybe someone else will chime in. I would go to Crutchfield and see what sizes you need and that might make a difference with the brand you go with based on fitment or drop in compatibility. Glad you got the subs sorted out :)

You will need a multi-meter, a set of RCAs that will be sacrificed, and a small blade screwdriver. First disconnect the amp from the LC2i. Now cut...

Thanks for the info, made the setting changes and that did the trick. Toyed with the amp gain to get the amplitude balanced out, then tweaked...
