What annoys the ***** outta you/pisses you off...

People (coworkers) that make more $$ than me yet do less. For example, Sunday my arrival time to my shift noticed 3 finished parts on top of the 1/2 finished parts being worked on rather than finding a separate cart to put the finished parts on. That's lazyness.

So an SS disability attorney called me today. I have severe chondromalacia of the right knee. I had a motorcycle wreck on Dec 28th 2001 which fractured and dislocated my right knee. I re-injured this knee on March 24th 2016 when a full sized keg of beer I was delivering rolled into it and hyper extended it way backwards. So over a year of being on workers comp and physical therapy later the verdict is that I have severe chondromalacia of my knee and it is degenerative meaning it will only get worse day by day. The doctors said I NEED a replacement knee but didn't want to do it now as I would probably need two more replacements by the time I retire. So basically I have proof and documentation from two orthopedic surgeons, and several physical therapist as well as MRI's and X-rays proving my disability will continue for as long as I am alive and will only get worse day by day. Two different attorneys here in GA have told me that in order for me to have a chance getting any kind of disability from SS, this thing I have been paying into since I was 14, I have to be continually going to either a doctor or clinic at least once every quarter and it would help if I am on pain medications. Absolute Horse Shit!!

So now I have to play their game which will inconvenience me to no end. It pisses me off that so many people can get SS disability and don't actually need it and when someone comes along with a legitimate disability he is told you are white, a male, and under 50 and Social Security will consider you not disabled unless you can PROVE you are getting ongoing medical help and are on pain medications. Not only is it asinine but isn't it discriminatory to deny someone based on AGE, RACE and ***???????? Not when you are the government and money is involved apparently. Double standards... I think so.

By the way. SS Disability is mostly paid out to people with "Mental Disorders" then next to people with joint problems and tissue problems. Overweight people with bipolar disorder... Sound familiar? Chances are some of you know these people. Tell them thanks for me.  ?

For a sec I was like damn, how do you get "severe" chlamydia? My Halloween spirits are kicking in.

Have you noticed that a lot of T.V. commercials are for medications to treat some pretty serious illnesses, diseases and cancers? I am wondering why. Shouldn't the Doctors treating these issues know what medications are out there and are available to treat said issues? I mean, why tell the general public? Why spend the money on commercials? Is this how pharmaceutical companies inform Doctors of what medications are out there? Make commercials so the general public has to ask the Doctor about the medication they saw on T.V.? In fact, a lot of these commercials say "Ask your Doctor if this medication is right for you". Shouldn't the Doctor know????

Drug companies put out commercials so people see them and then go to their doctor asking about them... they also put diagnosis’s in peoples head for example Abilify is supposed to only be used for a psychotic type disorder however in the commercial they say can also help people with depression it’s generally way too strong of the medication with people with mild depression however if you go in ask your doctor about it chances are they’ll prescribed it to you

These are things the Doctor should know already... we shouldn't have to watch a commercial then ask the Doctor about the medication. Now we are questioning the Doctors like they didn't go to school for many years to be able to diagnose, treat and hopefully cure us. It all seems out of whack to make these commercials for those people whom the majority of have no medical degrees.

I literally just figured out why....

I used to work at a mail order pharmacy. We had to learn about brand name vs. generics. When brand name medication is invented basically, they patent it. The patent by law is only allowed to last a given amount of time. When the patent expires then other companies are allowed to use the active ingredients. What is different are the fillers. Brand Name vs. Generic. Now these companies can sell their version of name brand medications you may already be taking... so you ask your Doctor about it. Most insurance companies actually want you to try the generic first as it is at times far less expensive than the name brand. Once you have tried all the generics available your Doctor must insist for you that you have to take the Name brand. So those commercials are most likely the generic versions now being for sale.

The last part of that is not correct there’s literally not one commercial for a generic medication they’re all brand-name medications. Generic meds are sold under their trade name I.e. Cymbalta which you’ve probably seen commercials is generically sold as duloxetine which there are no commercials for

Not exactly, in fact most doctors don’t know all the medications now a days they come and go so much it would be impossible for them to keep up with all the different drug classes new meds, this mostly pertains to internal medicine drs and family practice drs as specialty drs like infectious disease, GI and psych drs will know more regarding pharmacology because they are dealing with more of the same diagnosis.

Wife and I are both pharmacists and I deal specifically with specialty meds for blood disorders like anemia

Why not have you, the Pharmacist inform these patients about the alternatives when they fill them? It just seems like they are spending a lot of money making commercials... I am sure they are going to want to recoup that money somehow right... like higher cost medications? I don't know... it all seems like a racket to me.
