I spliced into the dome light on my 2007 Jeep and ran led trailer lights on each side facing out and downward, by the side steps. When I did one side, it worked fine and turned off when the dome light turned off. Now, I did the other side and they turn off when the dome light is off, but they stay on when the ignition is on.

They are ran in parallel.

did something ground out somewhere?

or

is one of the wires backward?
