So here's the deal. I already had this Kenwood (KDC-MP228) Installed in my car and I finally came around to installing the Sirius Satellite reciever in it.

After about two hours I got it all in and went to plug the cable that goes from the sat reciever to the back of the radio.

As I was pulling the radio and the wiring out, I noticed/heard one of the temporary splices that I had electrical tape around come in contact with the radio chassis and it sparked.

So I thought it'd be okay and when to turn it on....nothing! ugh! I checked the fuse on the radio and it's okay.

I did find the radio fuse on my car's fuse box had blown and replaced it but it still will not come on. The little red flashing security light that the radio has visible when the radio faceplate is off is not coming on.

Could I have "fried" the radio somehow? how can I test it?

I am getting power to the wire coming from the car and at the end of the connector that goes to the radio itelf but it just won't come on.

Any suggestions? thanks!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Hmmm, good question. No, but I will. My clock on my car is working though. Hmm!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If the security light doesn't come on, there's a problem with the constant power input, not the accessory input. There's another fuse in the vehicle that may not be labelled as a radio fuse. Check all your fuses, including the fuse box under the hood, if it has one. What kind of car is it?

YES!!!

Thanks guys! It was a fuse under the hood. It was the BACKUP fuse.

Should have know because when I was trouleshooting, I noticed that the cars clock had been stuck at 1:00!!

That was it. I'm up and running and now I can hear Sirius Satellite Radio!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
