I know this has been brought up quite a few times. Who has expirence with it at 1ohm? Before everyone starts to say "Just buy the right subs" I just happened to find a super good deal on some DC lvl 4's but they happen to be dual 1's. My electrical will consist of.

big 3

kinetik hc1400 under hood

kinetik hc2400 in rear

130 amp alternator.

The thing is volts would drop to about right around 12 when I was running it at 2ohms. Only diffrence is there was no big 3. So can big 3 bring my voltage up to 13?

I would highly, highly doubt that would be possible.

ya I am kinda nervous about it. Id rather just pay the extra cash to get them reconed to dual 2's though then buy a new alt or battery

with big 3 and a 130 amp alt can i run a zx 1500 at 2ohms and a zx850.4 only using 2 channels and 150 watts on each channel so 1800rms with a duralast 1000amp batt i know its duralast haha plan on upgrading to hc1400

you should have no problems, might need a second battery at most. But try without first

YA I might give a try at 1ohm. Not for daily use though. I think for daily use I am just gonna have it at 4ohm. any idea what it might do at 4ohm?

I've experienced the zx2500 @ 1ohm. It will go into protect at high volume, but will do fine at very low volume. With that said, your electrical needs to be up to par because it's definately going to let you know that as soon as it goes into and out of protect. In my previous vehicle, I had a 105amp alt (stock) with a redtop upfront and yellowtop in the back and the zx2500 still went into protect at high volume. It's a really nitpicky amp.

I have a ZX2500.1 that refuses to do 1 ohm, Optima red top under the hood 1/0 wire 2 Kinetik HC800's and 200 amp alt, it does good at 4 ohms. Still gets warm to the touch but it is the older model without cooling fans.

I am going to install a pair of Stinger 6'' fans to try to keep it cooler. It hasnt gotten hot enough to shut down yet, but i know that heat isnt good for it

Yea i agree. Beefing up the electrical will help. Even with that its all on "rise" as to what you can play with it at 1 ohm and what you cant.

Tommy is the guy to talk to about the Kickers. You can ask him what it will take to allow it to run at 1 ohm.

Im thinking for starters.

1. Big three all in 1/0.

2. Upgraded alternator.

3. Hc1400 Up front.

4. Dedicated runs of 1/0 to the rear in both power and Neg.

5. 2 if not 3 HC2400's in the rear.

6. Proper Gain Structure.

Not to mention the enclosure setup.

i would imagine thats overkill, but nothing wrong with overkill

That isn't a very good electrical.

I have a KX 2500 and want to get a dual 2 recone for my btl and run it at 1 ohm but Im affraid I wont be able to use it daily.

I clamped it and rise was up to 4.15ohm or so. I think if I add an extra batt or two in the trunk Ill be alright.

Only one way to find out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
