Thats the problem, alot of people just look at peak numbers. In your example the s2k motor does 20 more peak hp. What you dont see is that the s2k does it at ~9k rpm, while the a4 v6 does it's peak ~6-7k rpm. What you also dont see is torque. I'll bet my bottom dollar that a4 v6 does quite a bit more torque than the s2k motor.

Once you leave VTEC (6k rpm) you lose about 30 horsepower. Torque isnt much, but its basically a "flat curve". No doubt the A4 has more torque, but I still stick by the S2000 killing it cause it weighs nearly 1000 pounds less (A4 should be around 3600 and the S2000 2800).

True, but remember, power to weight ratio also is important in 1/4 mile times/straight line acceleration.

Oh, and since I'm way off topic... ZR-1 FTW, minus those rims. Best car ever? Nope. Possibly best performing American-made car yet? Could be. I'd like to see the Viper ACR vs the ZR-1.

I have a hard time believing that. S2000 weighs 2850 pounds and has almost as much horsepower to the wheels as the Audi has to the crank (dynos 195 rwhp). Put em on a track and it'd be WAY over as well. hah

Maybe I interpreted his post wrong, but I think he meant that if it was the same everything except the engines, the audi would win. By that I mean, both engines in the S2000, one with the Audi engine, one with the s2000. Or both in the audi. Catch my drift? I could have read wrong though.
