zero ga ground

I wanted to know if lets say your amp takes in 4 ga power and ground and u buy a 0 ga wire kit how do u wire the ground to the amp cuz that wire is gona be to big? that allways got me alittle confused im using my seat belt bolt in the back its not a bad ground and its only about a foot and ahalf away from my amp . and the same thing for the power can i run 0 to a block and have 4 ga or 5 ga to my amp only a 1 foot run or so.

thanks i got work in a hour. im gona be so out of it . im like trying to see if i should do 2 batterys or just one battery. and my power wire to a block and call it a day.
