How does this connector work exactly? I just put in a 360.4 and I seem to be getting some very faint hiss, especially noticeable at low volumes, this isnt normal right? Its line noise from somewhere. . . I bought the Zapco used and it didnt come with the simbilink connector, but I can get one off ebay for $25 or so. Will it hook into my exsisting RCA? from pics it looks to have male RCA ends. . .

Also anyone have any succesful stories of using a balanced simbilink connector and getting rid of noise?

yeah but its no where near long enough to run from the deck to the amp in the trunk, so what wire is used in between? Weren't you using the simbilinks in your truck?

yea, they are still in the truck. i still have zapco amps, so i still use them. you use a symbalink cable. look on www.zapco.com then go to stock room, then consumers.

Ahh gotcha, so more wiring to run. For some reason I thought you could use existing RCA's, and just hook them to some balanced line driver/adapter. Gotta think ether or not I want to run more wires.

i dont think it would really effect the signal if you connected it at the end of your existing rca's, but it might not be that strong of a signal at that point, call up zapco and ask, they have great customer support. oh, and your mounting tabs should be in the mail in the next day or two.

Great thanks alot man. Still loving the 360.4, tuned my new deck a little today, sounds great. Looks like I just picked up a C2K 2.0 . . . but I have no idea what the heck I'm gonna do with it, just couldnt pass up the price.

thats a nice amp. get a set of midbass speakers or something like that, or a set of 8"s up front to make a 3 way set, hmmm.

Check the gains on the amp and also the jumpers on the adapter, set it at 0 db, and gains to zero. then adjust them accordingly. The adapter will take any volt and boast it to 16 volts.

He doesn't have the balanced line driver though to begin with

Just get one of those (two since you're using a 4-channel amp, a pair for each 2 channels) and two 18' Symbilink cables. The balanced line driver plugs into the RCAs on the deck, the 18' cables connect the amp to the line drivers.

Yeah I am actually using it bridged into 2 channels (180 x 2) for my CDT comps. I'm just being lazy and dont want to run all the news from my deck to the amp in the trunk, espcially since I moved and no longer have a garage. I'm waiting on a response from zapco about using the exsiting RCA and then just running a short 1' DIN-DIN from the symbilink transmitter to the amp. Thanks.

Just got an email reply from Zapco and they said its fine to use the inline symbilink transmitter one the end of an existing RCA run then use a short DIN-DIN to connect that to the amp. SWEET! So glad I dont have to run new wires, lol.
