Ok I've been lookin for an amp that will give me 500-600wrms@2 ohms and I ran accross this. From what Ive heard Zapco is supposed to be a pretty good brand, but I was just wondering what everyone thought of this amp. It will be powering 2 Eclipse subs. One is 2 ohm and the other is 4 ohm and I was told if I wire these in parallel I will get 2 ohm, and each sub is rated at 250wrms, so I figured this would be a good amp to look at.
Any Idea of what this amp really puts out for power. Is it around its rated 500 watts or more? Ive had 300wrms going to one of these subs fine so Im not scared to give them a little more power, just not a whole lot more.
Here is some stuff about it
-Single channel mono amplifier class A/B for maximum system design flexibility for sub-woofer or mid/highs applications
-SymbiLinkâ„¢ Balanced Input
-E.H.V. high voltage output circuitry
-Heavy duty, high current terminals
-Compact chassis design
-2 ohm mono stable
-12 dB variable bass port control
-High Current Bi-Polar output devices
-Optically isolated MOSFET power supply
-Sub-sonic filter for speaker protection
-Switch for use as single L ch. or R ch. bridge
-L+R sum mono for use as a bass amp
-Cooling fan allows any mounting position
-PC board with heavy 2 oz copper
-Surface mount technology w/1% resistors,
precision caps, and massive ground planes
-Three year warranty (If Authorized Dealer Installed)
And some specs
Mono, 4 ohms: 1x360 Watts
Mono, 2 ohms: 1x500 Watts
T.H.D. + Noise:
S/N Ratio: >95dB
Slew Rate: >29V/uS
Damping Factor: >250 @ 4 ohms
Dimensions: 12"L x 7.5"W x 2"H
Thanks
