What happened in here?
Hmm....interesting question.
Here we go!
1) Soundstream Reference Amps - Loved these things, nice understated look, (I for one, liked the blue) sounded great, ran like champs. So glad I'm gettin another one in the mail shortly!
2) Fosgate DSM Amps - You know, the bbq lookin ones, like the punch 60dsm and punch 100dsm. These were some of my first amps (had plenty of other flea market ones before this, we won't count those!) and were some crazy preforming amps...sooooooo underrated! I had a pair of those, with some kickers in a plexi/mirror box in the back of a buick somerset/regal, ported up thru the 6x9 holes. Awesome car, awesome setup, I was a fool for ever selling it.
3) ORION SX amps - I ran these in my current car for the longest time, loved the oldschool construction, just didn't fit my needs with the power/ohm load I had in my setup.
4) Kicker ZR Series amps - BBQ grill FTMFW! Loved these things, just got louder and louder no matter what you threw at them. Only downside is they were INSANE current hogs..... and got soooooooo freakin hot. I literally think I coulda fried something on my ZR600.
5) Powerbass ASA's - Ok, for once its a newschool amp, but I love it so far, specifically the ASA 600.2. Construction is really good (yes, I've popped it open to see) sounds great, runs cool...looks? Amazing! I dunno who powerbass hired to design this case, or what Korean sweatshop they bought it from, but it is pure ***. I know a lot of people consider powerbass to be on the low end of amp's, but these are a cut above all that for sure! Now to score a 2000.1 to complete my set, and hook it up to the tc sounds oem 10 I have coming in. This systems gonna sound great!
Honorable mention: Fusion Powerplant Amps - Not many people have heard of these, and even fewer have run them. They are an amp company from New Zealand of all places, and make some good stuff. It was a tossup between these and the Powerbass Amps, but the Powerbass wins due to its good looks, and lack of a pop on startup. The fusions annoyed me in that they did not have a soft power on feature. Otherwise awesome amps, clean look (these were the previous years model, not the new ones) and made plenty of power while staying cool. I may regret having sold those some day!
