Oy vey forgot to tell ya this one. It's dealing with car audio too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif When I first started looking for a job as an installer. I stopped by the Biggest shop in town and went in to talk to the owner. After shooting the proverbial chit for a few hours, I asked if he was looking for any help. He said that actually he was. Then he wanted to know if I had done any of that kind of work before. Of course I hadn't but I told him I was almost finished with a pretty nice system in my own car. I was going to finish it up this weekend hopefully. He said well bring it down here 8:00 Monday morning for your interview. Hot d@mn, got my foot in the door. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif So I went home and worked on it all freaking weekend like a crazy person. Finished running the last wires at like three in the morning Monday. Didn't even test it, went straight to bed. Got up the next morning kind of late. Did the $hit, shine ,shave, and shampoo in like two minutes flat. Ran out the door and hopped in the car. Got about a half a mile down the road and it dawned on me. I hadn't even listened to the system yet. So I turned the head unit on, it lit up, and no sound. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif something wrong and I got no time. I pulled off the side of the road and went and looked at the amps to see if the power lights were on. nope , $hit no power. So I popped the hood everything looked fine, everything connected properly. I couldn't figure it out. I had no time to break out the meter. So I just went ahead to the shop. I figured if nothing else I could show the guy my trouble shooting skills //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I roll up in the parking lot. And the owner walks out the front door to greet me in the parking lot ( you don't get that kind of treatment anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ) He asked if this was the car I was telling him about. I told him yes sir. I popped the trunk he walked around to check it out and was impressed. He then said it looks good, but how does it sound. I told him I haven't even listened to it yet. I just finished everything up early this morning. He said well lets have a listen, with a cringe I climbed in the drivers seat, he got in the passengers side. I hesitantly turned the key. And once again the deck lit up, but no power. I acted a little surprised. then said let me get my meter real quick and find the problem. He smiled and said that was fine. Brownie points //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I grabbed the meter and headed for the trunk, and proceeded to look for loose connections or blown fuses . I had to pull all kinds of access panels to get to everything to check. After about 20-30 minutes of me tearing my car apart in this dudes parking lot. He came back out and asked if I figured it out yet. I told him I was almost there all wiring connections were fine and the fuses in the fuse block were good. So I checked the feed wire to the distribution block. Ah ha, in my best scotty from star treck voice keeptain, we have no power. Why in the he!! I didn't check this first I will never know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif So I put all the access panels back in. Got everything back to normal in the trunk. Went and popped the hood. The shop owner went and sat in the passenger seat patiently awaiting the show. I Started looking over the power wire when the owner said come here a second. I walked around the car to see him grinning like a Cheshire cat, whilst holding a shiny gold 100 amp agu fuse that I never put in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/slap.gif.87520e8ca8e90076ac30e777c0de5331.gif After the guy stopped laughing he did offer me the job. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
