I'm going to trade trucks and the deck that it has is the cda 9855. I have a deh-p770mp in my truck. He has the adapter so that head unit will work with the steering controls, so it would be easier to just leave it in there. I've never owned an alpine before, so I just want you input on this model, Thx. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

The 9855 is better then your 770... I used one last year for about 7 months it was a nice unit. People either like the glide touch or they don't though.

Great, thx for the fast replys to this. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing. I really like my pioneer deck and it's less than 6mth old. But if the alpine is the better bet then I'll Do the swap. Does anyone know if it have a seperate sub control/rca? Also, I looked on the alpine website and this deck isnt on there. What deck would be compareable to it now??

Yes it has a sub out. It also has Time Alignment, Crossovers... a bunch of fun features. It was a model from last year, nothing from this year compares to it because they got rid of all the processing functions from this years lineup.

i currently own the 9855, love errr thing about it, but the glidetouch really sucks. going through an mp3 cd takes forever. there has been numerous times of me going down the road using glidetouch, i hit a bump and i will select something that i dont want. i am right now looking at getting a pio 880prs just b/c if the glidetouch on the alpine that i do not like. i was trying to sell it at one point, the person looked at it and really was digging the hu, but then when they went to change something around with the glidetouch, they immediately hated it. when i first got the hu, i liked the glidetouch but after months of using it, it really blows.

So the deck is still fully functional without useing the glidetouch? He has it set up to use the controls o nthe steering wheel, but I want to be able to go through mp3's and so on. Thx for the reply's guys. It's making me feel a little better about the trade. I'm still going to miss my truck afterwards.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I think the features of the 9855 overrule the glide touch. Im still not use to it, but I only use it for radio preset, because it tells you what station it is when you place your finger on the pad without going to it, and for mp3 folders.

Not familiar with those HUs, but the 9855 has the following:

Time Alignment

Adjustable 3 way crossovers with 24 db slopes

5 band Parametric EQ

512 back lit colors for the main 4 buttons...lol

MP3 capability

RCA Inputs

ok I retract my statement after today.

The motor on my flip down faceplate went out today and I can't eject my CD!!!!!!!

I am so pist!!!!!!! I about jerked it out of the dash and threw it out the window.

So now I am on the hunt for a new HU..... thinking Eclipse or Pioneer now.
