Your Beginner Systems!

My First system consisted of:

1984 Olds Delta 88 2 Door

Jensen Cd HU - Walmart

Sparkomatic 3 way 6x9s in the rear deck -Western Auto

Sparkomatic 1 way 3.5s in the dash -Western Auto

Boss Audio 1way 6.5s with whizzer cones in the doors -$14 at one of those traveling bargain sales.

(2) Sparkomatic 8" Powered bass tubes situated right behind both front seats. -Western Auto

The 6.5s and 6x9s were wired in parallel presenting the Hu with a 2ohm load on the rear channels. Rated for 4-8 ohms.

The two basstubes were ran off of about a 10ga wire ran from the fuse block to the first one then another wire to the second. The ground was ran to the HU ground.

No Lie.

This was when I was 16 in 1995. I installed this all by myself with no help. I have learned much since then.

when i think bout it this day it pisses me off so bad cause i didnt know and spent 750 on crap but o well life goes on!!!!!

to

stufff in sig

I remember when i used to sit in the car for hours jammin my stuff like it was gold to me ears.. I was so proud of it.. i think most of it was given to me and i was 15-16 at the time.. i installed it all myself.. 1st time learning...jeeez that was prolly 50 installs ago...WOW

Pair of Volfenhaag 12's, a SPL (PA knockoff) 1200w amp, and an Aiwa CD player i bought 5 years ago... This was all before I was old enough to drive too.

Got my car at 15 and spent money to put in a stereo i couldnt even drive around and listen to.

A sony cd player, profile 60x2 amp and cerwin vega 6 1/2 comp set.

The profile lasted about 6 months...sat on the face and broke the display on the sony after a few years...put it in my sisters ex's truck...don't know what happened to it. the tweeters are still running in my girls car. Later I added a madisound 10 and the legacy amp that is in my sig to this day. Also had a homemade active bass eq and custom box that held the 10 and 6 1/2's in one box.

First was 2 12" Jensens with a Fultron comp amp when I was 15 yrs...

Then 2 12" Pioneer on and Old Linear Power amp (I miss that amp)...

After was 4 15" Orions on a 2100HCCA...

Thats all I remember at the moment, but there was many more...

2 mtx 10s with a planet audio 600 watt amp, banged pretty loud too for sealed and 10s, they were only the 5510s. totaled the truck sold it, then got a van and put a mtx 12 7500 in a ported box, the amp was 250 watts, it sucked. but I had no wiring so i got some home wiring and tryd to drill through the firewall but broke the bit so i ran the wire through the door. and the remote and rcas were going through the dash to the back, so alota ghetto wires visable. the power wire was skinny. I got the ground wraped around the part that holds the seat to the ground, you know in the old astros. well then I got 2 12s and a 1200 watt amp and it burnt a hole through the power wire and touched the metal, with no fuse it killt my battery comepletely

My first 'system' was a single home cabinet speaker with a Pioneer 15" sub in it, run off ONE rear channel of a Pioneer headunit. It sat in my backseat playing full-range off 7watts RMS for about a year or so in a 1981 200sx. I would have had two of them, but the other 15 had a broken tinsel lead that a local electronics shop told me couldn't be repaired. I really wished I had had both of them to put in my backseat.
