You tell me what subs to use

i have 2 XXX 12's on hand with a US amps MD3 2000x1@1ohm plan on running it at .5

so the XXX's are used so i was going to recone them wich would cost me $95 per woofer or i could buy some 18" basket and recones and recone them to 18's for $270 so what should i do

2 12's ported

or

2 18's sealed

What kind of music do you listen to?I would say the 18's will be more musical being sealed and still get loud.

This doesn't even need to be asked. 18's all the way. The cone area makes up for the port in volume, and you'll get the cleanness for music being sealed. Win/win, no downsides. Except the extra money, but then again, it'll be totally worth it.

well not exactly

the 12's would be around 1db louder at tunnig then the 18's but the 18's are louder by 4db and 20hz and and below and at 45hz and above
