You mad at Obama?WERE YOU MAD WHEN..........?

We don't elect a king moron, we elect a President. Executive Branch. Gee, I wonder who was in charge of Congress, you know, the Legislative Branch, during Reagan's entire term? You know, the branch that has the ultimate say on the laws we pass and where the money gets spent? Hmmm...gee...I wonder...
He didn't raise taxes on the middle class, the Democrats in Congress did. He didn't spend $3 trillion of our money, the Democrats in Congress did. He gave amnesty to millions of illegals, based on promises made by Teddy "Fat Boy" Kennedy that going forward the illegal immigration issue would be addressed and that that was the only way to fix it. Who was Teddy? A fat, liberal, moonbat Democrat who now resides in Hell. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
When you remind liberals that Congress is who actually controls the govt's purse strings, they change the subject.

And how much of that did Reagan veto?

The great irony is that without the government that, according to conservatives, needs to "get out of the way", there wouldn't be a path for it to get in the way of.
You live in a pretty awesome country. Really, the government provides a product. You pay for that product through taxes. If you don't want government spending your money, go live in fucking Africa. Go live on an island. If you are too dense to realize all the things government provides and guarantees so we can live as good as we do, go live in Iraq and tell me what you prefer.

This is the great folly of the American population. They are fooled into thinking that government is bad and that government regulations hurt everyone. The reality is that government is good and necessary to secure the rights of it's citizens and that regulations only hurt greedy corporations who want to **** the country's population for all that they're worth without regard to the consequences. This predatory lending **** is the epitome of this. We NEED the government, even if you are too close minded and obtuse to realize what it does for you.
I'm sorry, but that is the most idiotic comment I've seen in a long time. If you really think that you NEED the government to provide "services" for this country under the guise of "taxes" and laws, you need to pull your head out of your ***.

The government needs US to pay their salaries and keep 1000's of worthless employees employed. Why do you think local government jobs are the fastest growing sector of new job creation? Do you think that's by accident? Do you think that companies like Intel will actually expand and employ more Americans like they claim? They did just build a huge campus, and also outsourced jobs to Malaysia all in the same year. After-all, your tax dollars are giving large corperations credits that they use to expand and ship jobs overseas. If you don't think this happens everyday, ask the millions of Americans that have had their jobs outsourced in the last 10 years.

Until you get your facts straight about what our government Actually does, please don't tell ignorant people how to think. Half of the poor bastards in this thread don't have the time to research anything. Hell, I've only spent 10% of the time that I should have because I work too much!

Don't be sorry that it's hard for you to accept that the government does good and necessary things.

If you really think that you NEED the government to provide "services" for this country under the guise of "taxes" and laws, you need to pull your head out of your ***.
I never said anything about services, strictly speaking. I'm talking about rules and regulations that allow people who aren't in the top 2% of wealth to live decent and healthy lives. Government protects workers from exploitation and consumers from extortion. We need it. These are facts, whether it conforms with your ideology or not.

You can thank republicans for things like that. Obama closed them, with fierce opposition from Republicans. Ending the Outsourcing Loophole « Main Street

Government **** sure isn't perfect, but it still provides much need protection to keep the middle/lower classes viable and thus our economy strong.

How does the government supposedly help the 98% that don't have enough wealth "to live decent and healthy lives."?? I don't use anything they provide, except the roads I drive on. I don't call the police. I haven't had any fires that I haven't put out myself. My water is provided via spring, pumped to a 1500 gallon holding tank, etc, etc. All Services I use are privately owned, power, telephone, etc. I support my local businesses, not large corporations like AT&T, etc.

I used to work for Intel, Advanced Telecom Group (ATG), ShineTsu America, and several other fortune 500 companies. Trust me, I know how they try to hire and fire anyone who will work for the lowest common denominator.

What you don't realize is that your life works for YOU. It doesn't work for anyone else but you. When you impose your laws, taxes, and ideas on other people - you take away their rights. You take away their freedoms and cost them more money. You make other people's lives miserable by what you impose on others.

I admit, there are a lot of welfare addicts and other people who leach off the government and need to **** *** to get anywhere in life. I have people in my family who work for the police and they say "you deal with 10% of the population, 90% of the time". I'm the other 90% that don't need the police. Tread lightly.

Every action weather physical or ideological, has an equal and opposite reaction. The backlash that new taxes, laws and other RESTRICTIONS impose on others takes away those rights and freedoms. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Suddenly we're making laws to make illegal aliens aloud to vote and drive. Why is this? That would take away the rights of the legal citizens to feel safe in their environment. I could go on all day, but I digress...

Again, government does a lot more than provide firefighters and policemen and roads. You are part of the American epidemic of foolishness that takes for granted all of the things that government does. Unless you think companies selling diseased food and poisonous drugs is a right that should be protected. Unless you think companies forcing workers to work 80 hour weeks while making below the poverty level is a right that should be protected.

You talk about knowing about the lowest common denominator, but don't realize that the government is the one that keeps the lowest common denominator from falling too low.

How does an illegal immigrant voting or driving make you feel unsafe? Not that both of those claims aren't enormous bullshit anyway, but just the principle. Are you that bigoted? Are you that xenophobic? Are you that racist?

What other of your rights is the government infringing? Government regulates business from extorting consumers. How is that a bad thing? You seem pretty smart so I'm hoping that you aren't stupid enough to believe in free market principles or some other farce.

I call foul. Not that I agree with everything VWBobby said (or even much of it), to call him a bigot because he mentions illegal aliens is a cop out on your part. He didnt even mention a race that I saw, merely 'illegal aliens'. Quit spouting liberal hate rhetoric. Its a common practice of liberals, when faced with the issue of illegal aliens, to start calling people bigots. It doesn't make a person a bigot to want to address the illegal immigrant problem in this country. You praise yourself for your enlightened attitude, but you dont seem to hesitate to fall back on the worst liberal attack propaganda there is when ever it suits you.

As for giving illegals a DL, hell, why not. As the system stands now, illegals dont even need a license to drive freely in this country. Two years ago a friend of mine in Cali was driving with his family (wife and two young daughters) when an illegal immigrant blew a stop sign and t-boned them. When the officer found out he was illegal, with no license or even any form of ID, he was allowed to leave the scene. He was gone before the ambulance even showed up to care for my friend's family. His fault, his liability, yet got off scott free. My friend's insurance company had to pay for the damages (almost brand new vehicle totaled). Who ultimately paid for that wreck? You and I did, in the form of higher insurance premiums.

3 years ago when I lived outside Santa Maria Ca, I read a newspaper article about a DUI checkpoint set up the night before. Out of 200 people pulled over, more than 180 of them were illegals, driving with no license. Not one of them, not a single one, was punished. Every single one was released. Disgusting. So spare me your 'bigot' comments, I doubt you have much of a clue how bad the illegal immigrant problem is getting.

I call him a bigot because he acts like illegals having drivings licenses or voting would somehow infringe the rights of others to "feel safe". It Is a problem that needs to be solved, but to imply that all illegals are dangerous is pretty racist.
