His numbers are off, but his message is essentially correct. Obama is not lowering the deficit. When this is mentioned, all you and/or abate do is blame Bush.
You have said it yourself, the president PROPOSES a budget, but who approves it? Congress. In essence, all the president does is make suggestions, congress actually makes the decisions. So I find it less than honest to suggest the huge rise in the deficit in 2009 was Bush's fault. But when Democrats controlled congress during that time (again, the people who handle the govt's purse strings), Libs seem to conveniently forget that and simply blame the republican president. This type of selective memory is what gets these discussions nowhere.
