some dumb mechanic was tellin me that why did i add 1/0 grounds on my big 3, he stated that lower resistance doesnt increase to higher resistance even with 1/0 grounds is this true?

i told em that my resistance would increase and the current would increase too but then again he was all like the resistance goes down it doesnt increase to a mayor resistance wich would cause less current on the power.

wtf he seemed so convincin but i know he was wrong ..

Bigger cable= less resistance=more current(amps)=good.

think of it as trying to blow through a straw(stock wiring, which is usually 4 ga)

VS trying to blow through a garden hose(0/1)

whic will pose more resistance.

and u meant to say that lower resistance doesnt equate to higher current.

Which it doesnt necessarily, but it has the capability to pass more current when needed. which would be when ur battery is low and needs all the current it can get from ur alt.

I dot even know why i wasted my time typing this. but there u have it

adding ground lowers resistance, doesnt add to it

The lower the resistance, the more current that can flow through it....

For current to flow there must be resistance, the lower the resistance the more current can flow, wich also in turn results in more heat.

The higher the resistance the less current will flow.

The difference in resistance between a 1/0 cable and a 4 gauge cable is not enough to matter in higher current applications.

more wire is more resistance......that is unless you reach the efficiency point of the wire where power begins to turn into heat....then bigger wire reduces resistance
