Hit a speedbump, blown speakers and amp?

Ok so here is my sad story I hit a big speedbump the other night going too fast. All the sudden, my midbass cuts in and out and sounds like shit. I look at the amp and it is in protect mode, which means it is damaged or there is a grounded speaker wire. All the connections on the amp and head unit are perfectly tight. Any ideas as to what happened or what else to check? I am running an Eclipse cd8455 active 2 way fronts. Tweets are fine, midbasses and midbass amp are the problems. Speakers are Morel Elate run active. Phoenix Gold xenon amps.

Everything seems tight. I do hear ground noise and whistling when I turn on the stereo through the midbass however.

sounds like a bad ground really. or low voltage.

I would check the ground,, un-bolt, then re-bolt it up.. then you should check the rca's to make sure there isnt a cut in the wire. if that doesnt work, id rip apart the doors and check the connections.

Any other grounds to check. The ground wire on amp is tight, the ground to distribution block is tight, and the main ground is tight. The ground loop noise and distortion only comes through the midbass amp.

same thing happend to me this weekend. All I did to fix it was shut off the deck off by hand(meaning using the power button on the radio).

I just undid all the grounds and rebolted them down. Everything is tighter than a virgin. Amp is still in protect mode even when the RCA's are removed. What else! Did I blow the speakers or amp?

The positive and negative leads might be grounded together somehow in the door. I had this problem before where the sound came through but sounded like garbage, the problem was one of the strands of wire was contacting the frame of the speaker. Take your door panels off and double check.
