hi and welcome to the forum. even though i haven't visited in a while, its a very useful place packed with enthusiasts and some professional competitors who really know their stuff.

with regard to your question - quite simply there isnt a best sub AT THAT level as these are all what can be called 'super subs' - they are te best of the best. at this level it is how much power u give them and, importantly how you install these drivers, that will yield the best results.

be assured whichever you go for, you will not be diappointed provided all is done right.

It seems to me that you are looking for something really loud, but will still sound good at high volume levels. So probably something around a 60/40 or 70/30 favour for SPL/SQ.

Out of those subs, the Brahma, XXX, IDMAX and A Series would do the job. Have you looked at the JL W7?

er.....hi - JTMONEY

i dunno, you sound funny cuz like you only got like 678 posts so maybe your opinion isnt the best. not putting you down, i just want an opinion from a more knowledgeable forum person //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

it sounds a bit strange when you say they are all the same - sorry, i dont trust your judgment

Post count means **** all....trust his opinion, most of the following opinions will follow what he says anyways.

Well, you don't want the DD- thats pretty much a pure SPL driver.

The XXX and Brahma are practically identical, output-wise. You probably won't notice much of a difference between the 2 in your application. The ED A is comparable to the Brahma in output as well, it's a very nice and accurate driver that can still get loud when it wants to. The IDMAX is more geared towards SQ, but can still get loud also.

Those are the 4 that I would go with, the XXX, Brahma, ED A, and IDMAX.

idmax sounds like butter in your ears.. which is a good thing.

brahma's are cute.. fun little sub.

so are xxx's..

i'd go with the id max but i listen to alot of bluegrass and folk music... so that sways me a bit.

why why why why why why do people always say this? its NOT so.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

the beauty of a 95 is that it can do music at silly volumes with great authority. but box it good (with bolts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D) and you have a world-record holding SPL sub too, but its not just an SQ ting with these.........and pls can we have no silly posts of statistics saying "Qts is this, blah blah blah is that" - in the real world represents music wonderfully, its just a picky sub in terms of getting SQ boxes right (it does not like sealed)

God!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D

Go back and read my post...you must've misquoted me, or changed it to SQ, because I said SPL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Back to the original question....I am going to again say the same thing everyone else has really. All of the drivers that you listed are basically top of the line woofers. If you are looking for more SQ then look into the IDMAX, Brahma, and I believe the ED A is pretty good sound quality too.

The main question is how much are you willing to spend? If you are willing to spend a S*** load on subs, then the W7 would be great, if you want to go cheaper for almost the results then others are for you....and within those even, the A is cheaper than the other two with comparable outcome....so that's my opinion on things.

Personally I just ordered a 15A, I'll let you know how it sounds when it comes in, but from the comments people have made about the 12's it should be awesome.

And just so you know...post count means absolutely dick, there are people that are very knowledgeable that just transfer over, or make a new account at these fourms. A good rule of thumb is to not totally doubt what anyone says unless they are just fanatic about one thing and don't give other options, many people have a lot to say that is very accurate whether it be that they have 50 or 5000 posts

Hope this helps

That's not the best attitude to gain a lot of friends on here. Many of the most intelligent posters on this board post infrequently. Many non-intelligent posters, do so often (Jmac //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) For your application, a ported XXX tuned to low 30's will suit your needs.

true words from a wise man. not to kiss ass or anything but mark knows he is an intelligent guy as is jtmoney, steve and at least 10 others on this forum. post count really is just a ## if you look some newbies have 1000+ posts and they post all the time in the OT forum or Flaming Forum when we had it. i know i have over 3000 posts which isn't many but i've also been here almost 2 years. although i'm not the smartest guy around i am learning all i can when i can. i also second this choice or what steve was saying, also how much power do you want to throw at the subs?? also nobody has said anything but how much space do you have to work with as well??

**** straight a XXX in a (4 cube box) tuned to (32 Hz) will suit your needs, it doesnt get any better than this for me, well, i guess it could, but i really dont think i need any more jizz stains in my boxers, or on my seats.

however i will be fixing up my truck soon, and im thinkin 8 cubes tuned low 30s with my XXX, possibly 2. yeah, its gonna be fun.

If a car audio expert who knew like (let's imageine here) absolutely EVERYTHING about car audio, came to this site and just signed up yesterday so he has like 1 or 2 posts.. Then there's this 14 year old kid (brad.farmer let's use a generic name) who posts 40 posts a day and don't know anything....So you believe the 14 year old kid? Good choice. I would too. Because post count means everything:eek: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

EDIT: Just saw i have more posts than JT so i must know more. When in reality, I'd be LUCKY TWICE OVER, if i knew as much as him.
