ill be running about 2000+wrms from a stock alternator with kol 4 (knukonceptz.com) for wiring.

i have an extra yellow top if i need, but heres my question.

if i do the big 3, put the yellow top under hood and upgrade the alt to about 200amps, should this be a sufficient set up.

OR

do the big three, yellow top under hood, and a kinetic 1800 in back??? (its a pickup so it wont be going far...

or just combine both scenarios?? kinetic in back, yellow under hood, big 3, 200amp alt.....or is that just over kill.

or any other suggestions.

what does 2k+ watts mean?

see what i mean. gotta be a little more specific.

with just 2k watts, you can probably work over the stock system a little and be alright. an HO alt never hurts though, especially if you might be upgrading in the near future

i put a yellowtop in and run a stock alt with big 2 and put in a 2600 watt amp all the time. voltage doesnt drop below 12.3

yeah its the kollosus 4 or whatever from knuconceptz. its equivalent to almost 2 ga. but they have to 1/0 that is equivalent to 2/0. would that be better? i suppose it would NEVER hurt huh?

well i will be running about 2000 wrms (music).

and i dont wanna wing it with the stock system, cuz i already know that my voltage will drop heavily. i was running 2300wrms and on the lows it would drop way too low.

I'd definately get the 1/0. 4 gauge is way too small for 2000 watts.

Go for the alternator, it's more important than another bat. There's no such thing as overkill in electrical ugrades.

i disagree..i say get the 2nd battery before the alternator..id stick with optima aswell

i personally, would just throw in the second battery and leave the 4g...2k really isnt a gawd awful amount of power for the stock alt

I thought adding a second battery to a stock alternator will only force the alternator to be more stressed with outputting the juice to both batteries, causing to kill the alternator in time?
