I was going to run 1200 rms in my civic. its got a 70 or 80a alt. so i might upgrade it someday. anyway, I have the money right now to replace the stock battery. So if I want to add another to the trunk,

get 2 yellow top optimas

or

a red top in front and a yellow top in the back?

why not just upgrade the alt from the start. thats where the actual power is going to come from.

have your alt tested to make sure its working fine. if it is get some batts.

for alts look into Dc, Mechman, or EA

Why waste your money on lame *** Optima batteries when they are not even half as good as other brands, like Kinetik, Deka, Odyssey, Stinger, XS, etc. You can get two Deka's for the price of one Yellow.

Oh and BTW, Red tops should never be used in a car with an audio system. That is unless you only expect it to last a year or so. And there will be no warranty if you deep cycle that POS.

i was running to red tops in my car for at least 5 yrs without a problem.. 1 of em just went bad last week so i got my moneys worth out of em. and it was the front one that was reading week when tested back was still fine ....
