Just a note, if you toss and turn even on a good bed, these make it surprisingly tough to roll over.

I have a 3" one I bought from Costco and it is awesome. So **** comfortable!

Yes. I couldn't sleep on my futon until I put one of those foam tops on. It's tearing (it was shipped like that. Bastards.) so, I need another one. But it's definitely worth it.

I say go for it. I had one of those 1.5 inch egg crate-style memory foam pads from wal-mart on my old mattress. Mattress was firm as hell and very uncomfortable, but the pad made it liveable. I think the thin wally world ones are like 15-20 bucks.

Now I have a very nice mattress with foam encased springs and a memory foam pillowtop. I'm still going to pick one of these up though. With the extra memory foam, it'll feel like I'm floating.
