i did notice with audyssy the response was way flatter but i just dont like the way it sounds i dunno ill play with it more tomorrow's

if that one isnt the one im suppose to use any recomendations i do notice that im supposevely doing 98 dbs at 2 hertz which i highly doubt but the rest of the bass curve seems about right (above 30 hertz using my radio shack meter)

Behringer makes a nice mic...ECM-8000 is the model number I think. You'd also need a preamp to get it to sound card level.

okay those are not expensive lol so what preamp do you suggest?

ok after talking to someone that know about the software im using we figured out i had some settings wrong and that i can use the mic i have for some ruff estimates but its best to get a mic like jim suggested

my laptops speakers at 2 inches away lol

The DCX2496 ain't to bad, I haven't had any problems with it yet.
