To me, car audio is not a hobby that lends itself well to competing against other people. In order to make it a competition 'sport' virtually everything that car audio is about its skewed, or flat out destroyed. Oh snap, some guy mapped out his transfer function so well that he was able to maximize his peak response at the expense of musicality! In the end, his 'stereo' simply an air compressor that sounds like... well... an air compressor. Its like a *** contest, but the winner is the guy who can cum the quickest.

And imo "SQ" competition began dying when people realized an RTA cannot measure the quality of the reproduction potential. No objectivity. Thus we were/are left with a 'sport' whose objective scoring is done by the human ear in the most subjective manner possible.

OP: its October, most leagues have wrapped up their season by now. In march/april things will pick back up big time.

X2 on what penn said. Also when I build my shiz I usually go for daily tuning and see how loud it will get. I dont see much point in building a stereo with all the effort and what not to just burp it for 5 seconds. Plus car audio should be about, well, car audio. I personally use my setups to listen to music and I want to know how loud it is when Im actually using it for that intended purpose, not farting at 60hz. Seems to me it's all about bass nowadays...that and if the install looks nice...that seems about it...not worth the effort IMHO...my install is about SQ that meets my criteria and keeping everything in the truck as stock looking as possible...no rippin' out the rear seat and putting in a cabinet full of big ass subs.

meca has an sq league and there's psychlone that partners with dbdrag so you have an opportunity to compete if you want. Its just this thread is full of bassheads. The SQ scene is alive an quite a powerful movement

Bryan wants to run it sealed cause he doesnt want to build the box lol. For comp I have a 2 cube box were gonna have tuned to 55hz or so, I forget where I had it hashed out to but basically 3 precision ports. We gon try to be there sir.

Also will I am interested in doing SQ when I get a better processor/deck again.

I never much liked being a SQ Judge for MECA, because what sounds good to me doesn't mean it sounds good to someone else.

i have to disagree COMPLETELY, the SQ scene IS FARRRR from being strong... the .... and i quote "SQL" (which is lame for i wanna get loud but not committing to either Sq or SPL) is strong. Who knows what might come of it...

now there are orgs popping up all over the place like pimples on worstenemys *** with dbdrag like classes... 139. 149... ect... those and streetbeat are becoming more popular for these SQL classes. that however is not SQ
