i finally got my xxx18 today and i was wondering how big should the box be (it's goin in a 94 impala ss) and what should i upgrade (alt,battery) and amp should i considers i have a hifonics 1500d now it is a quad 1 ohm sub

what does RE reccomend as far as box specs. For elctrical upgrades do your alt, big three, battery. The alt and big three being the most important.

Big three means upgrading these wires:

alt to battery

Chasis to battery

engine block to chasis.

also what are the voice coil ratings such as max and rms power. But being a quad 1 ohm you could wire the voice coils to make 2 sets of series circuits then wire those 2 ohm loads in a parellel circuit to create a final 1 ohm load.

So as far as an amp i would suggest a mono class d amp that is 1 ohm stable.

I know they recommend around 8 cubes before displacement, I am waiting to get mine from kojak!

Ported should be in the neighborhood of 8 cuft, sealed should be around 4ft. Give or take, depending on your exact needs. Honestly, I think you are gonna have a hell of a time fitting a xxx18 and its enclosure into a 94 impala.

Yup, I'd do a minimum of 7 cubes NET @ 30hz w/ 100 in^2 of port. Optimal, I'd do 8 cubes NET @30hz w/ 120 in^2 of port. peace

i was planning on puttin the xxx in my honda acccord but i didn't think it would be that big or heavy. so i will be able to build a ported box i figure i would not have enough room for ported
