For all those who hate Alping going to BB............

Alpine will not make a shitload of money by going to Best Buy like everyone thinks they will, Alpine thinks they will but they really wont, itll be the same amount they made at Circuit City......which isn't much. The only reason why Alpine is going to BB is because CC could go down at anytime cause BB is more popular.

You don't understand........85% of the people who walk into the car audio department at BB dont know shit and they dont give a shit and they dont want to pay shit. These people buy Dual and other cheap shit cause they want cheap shit.

The other 10% who come in their with money......Teenagers.....are going for cosmetics, such as OEL displays, fancy buttons, JVC touchscreen etc etc. And lets face it.....Alpine dosnt have these cosmetics and especially the ones BB is selling.

Another factor is the "South of the Border" or the infamous "Border Jumpers" factor. Half of the people who walk into this department are latino who barely speak any english. They look for 2 things: Cheap shit and Sony. Why Sony??? Because Sony makes everything and they believe these are good. Throughout my whole career at BB, The only to types of decks I sold to latinos were Dual and Sony. Latinos look for cosmetics......Sony has these cosmetics......Alpine will not. So I can not forsee any Latino buying an Alpine.

Back to percentages this leaves 5%........almost everyone falls into this department on this forum. We are the people who know how good they are, we are the major buyers of Alpine from BB. 5% isn't going to make gross dollar one.

Unfortunately for all you Alpine lovers there theres only one way for Alpine to go if they stay with BB for awhile and that is down. There decks are going to become more cheaply made and shitty displays.....why.....so they can sell them at Dual prices. This is how Rockford lost a lot of its rank.

It's unfortunate for all of us but this is how the crooked world of retail works.

^X2..Theyre gonna hook BB up with there lowest line of stuff and still going to make a killing i bet.. I dont see BB selling any F status...even alot of time*least round here*they rarely had R types in stock and if they could get them they were on back order for months*at CC*but I could drive say an extra 10-15 miles away and pick up a pair of R`s right out the door...

I wouldnt talk about shit I dont know about so I could openly get flamed....but regardless before you start flaming (if thats ur bag) state whether you've worked this department at BB so I feel better when your talking with ur head up ur *****. I'm sorry but working in the car audio department at one single BB store for a few years hardly make you able to comment on their nationwide sales trends. I'm pretty sure their top guys have ALOT better sales information than you do, dont kid yourself. There are people whos entire jobs are about analyzing the pros and cons of having Alpine come to BB. Alpine will benefit from being at BB, BB will benefit from having Alpine. Simple as that.

ummmmm....i work there....i know how retail works, My friend I have seen BB stats first-hand from my Uncle, who is a regional manager. I asked him whats the biggest sellers in my department. In return he send me an email with units and percentages for each region of the U.S.

So jujumantb........I've seen and know what the nation-wide sales trend is.

I install for CC...and i agree and disagree. IMO alpine is going to crap anyway, all the new decks have 2V preouts except the 9855. wtf is the deal with that. Yes they will still make a bunch of money because best buy is more popular, but just like Rockford did as soon as they went to best buy, theyre not getting better. The displays all look nice but thats about it, nothing special from all the 9811-9815 series decks. As far as us going under at any time...i dunno about that. I would have agreed with you but now were getting DEI alarms back, getting Kicker, and rumors of other nice deck companies which I wont name because theyre just rumors right now.

Its a bit hard to believe you''ve done this much research into Alpine coming to BB. I cant disprove you, well I could by demanding your uncles name and a copy of the stats, but I really dont care that much, but you can understand that its hard to believe... you probably would have mentioned that part earlier in the story. Even if it were true, you are nowhere near qualified to make... what am I doing, I dont care, liars bug me though... thats all.
