Wow what did I start. But can I interupt and bring it back to the beginning. I thought since Rl-p and avalanches have lower rms number and a cheaper price tag that they were kind of lower level. Anyone know anything about the new Havoc series by ascendant audio its on their webpage? and what about TC sounds I know they supply SS and other companies but do they sell subs themselves?

Prototypes only...you can buy direct from TC, but it's pricey at times //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

tcsounds had thought about direct selling, but i dunno if they are doing it..

the rl-p, like many subs, are underrated a bit. but in order for them to handle the same power as say an xxx, common sense must be used....

rms really means nothing(well, not nothing)....it's a guideline to thermal and mechanical handling. enclosure will have a great affect on what a sub can or cannot handle. to an lesser extent, the amps damping factor can play a role in that as well (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

i have no opinion on the ascendents...

it boils down to what u have allotted for budget, power and space willing to give up....a sub is only as good as it's applied application....

Just checked the Ascendant webpage...clicked all the tabs...didn't see anything about a "Havoc"...on the site...

Not really. Yes, the XXX outdisplaces them both. But not by a whole hell of a lot. Sheer output wise the XXX will likely get a little louder to the ear (at best). Sound quality wise; well, that's subjective. I know some people who love the XXX, and other people who'd never own one a million years. But, in general, any one of them have the ability to sound good to the relative listener and have very close to the same overall output. I presently have the Rl-p and love it to death.

As to RMS.....well, personally I'd prefer a sub that doesn't need 1600w to get loud and sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Nope.

As mentioned...mainly proto's only at this point. A guy named Electrodynamic has some TC proto's/one-offs up for in the classifieds section. Based on the TC3HP. Something to check out......
