XXX recone

well it looks like im gonna have to recone this bish, its makin a rattling sound right in the center of the cone, under the spiders. I looked thru the pole vent and didnt see anything and also thru the sides, but its like inside everything and i cant see shit. The guy i got it from said he cracked the dustcap, so he replaced it and thought the glur came loose. So i took it off and played it without the dustcap, but it still makes the same sound. He also has a recone kit he was trying to sell to me, but i cant recone a sub myself. Can anyone on here recone a sub thats closer than RE, so i cant try and save myself some time and money?
