XXX issues?

Recently, my XXX has been burning its voice coil wires in two. Ive been re-saudering them back on each time. And it always seems to be the positive ones that burn off. My guess is that I have it wired wrong, but I printed off a diagram i found on this forum awhile back and did it that exact way to 1ohm. What else mite be the problem?

Thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bowdown.gif.b85b23b82970bd22fb6b549c3392f016.gif

I think your referring to the tinsel leads...+ > + / - > - for 1ohm provided its a dual 2ohm..

Are there loose strands of wire coming from the terminals, possibly touching the other lead???

No loose wires. I didnt give it much slack when I wired it up so im sure leads arnt touching. Ill say it up front im not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to car audio, I know basic information. I wish I could take this to a local shop and have them give me some kind of guidance..But they think im talkin about **** when I say Ive got a RE XXX, No clue at all. I guess ill see if I can find another diagram and compare to see if its the same to what I have.

Are you sure they are buring off? Could they just be popping off the terminal?

Also, if you are soldering them back on with less slack, they will keep getting pulled off, they need that slack for when the cone moves.

Im sure theyre burning, you can smell it and see where the wire itself is black. I shorten the wire each time this happens cause i cut the burnt part, so sooner an alternate solution is going to have to be found. Maybe crimping the wire to the terminal?..

well the ***** isnt a newer model..its over a year old..i doubt a warranty would help anyways, i wouldnt look forward to havin to box it up/make something to hold its weight just so it would get to them in one piece.
