xxx help..

i'm looking to get 2 18" xxx what are the specs on the box size.. i'm putting them in the back of a quad cab dodge.. (backseat is going to be removed)... how big do i need to make the box and what fq should i port to.. of course it'll be slot ported..

second question is .. i already have 1 planet tt2250d.. and i was going to get another one.. will 2250 watts each be too much for these??

i'm going into fresh territory with re.. never touched em personally so i hope i'm going to be as satisfied as everyone else that has em..

my last question is:.. is there another sub preferably18's.. that has clean extreme output.. more than the xxx.. or is that going to be the best for my application.. i want tons of output but with a clean sound.. with the two amps i mentioned...

dam 2 18's I Would honestly look into 2 15's in that truck. I have a sx and they can take some power. But your not going to hear much music you gona compete with this? I just cant see spending that much money when your not going to hear much to well. I only say this because I knew a kid that did that and was not very happy with it in the end. Was just too much boom. Sucked for a daily.

i'm not going to "compete"... i just want the baddest system in town..lol i'm showing my age now.. 19.. i've always had single cab pickups so i could only have 2 12's sealed.. but now that i'm getting a new truck i'm going all out so i don't have to upgrade in a few months... i'm selling my old truck and buying a system with the cash... so i'll have plenty of money.. i'm thinking about them badass tc sound 18" for sale in this forum... there is a volume knob i can turn it down if i want lol... but i doubt i'll be doing that much..

Listen to someone with 1 xxx or 1 sx 15 and then you will think twice lol. I like loud, but there is a limit for a daily. And I think you will be looking around that limit lol, your not going to hear much voices and in a extended cab it going to be insane. I have had trucks and one truck I did a 12 in a bandpass box in a ranger single cab, Just put it on the passnagers seat. And it was INSANE. The cabns so small, i think you will be in the same boat i was in, it was crazy loud but sucked after a week. Just hearing that and nothing else lol.

trust me you'll be able to hear more than just my beats... i can't stand that.. i will have some killer mids/highs to boot.. i have a couple really nice v-12 amps that will push my front stage!!..

Do what you wish but I'm with voa. I believe for 2 18s your gonna need close to 25 cubic feet when you figure in the box port sub etc... If I were you I'd but 1 15 now port it and see if you think that will cut. It would **** to buy two and really only need 1. But it up to you. my cousin has 2 13 w7's ported with a 1000/1 each and we pound that all over the place.. i'm not a newbie to hard hitting systems and 1 15xxx isn't going to cut the mustard for me... and as far as 3k watts i don't know where you got that number from.. the 2 sub amps are going to be planet tt2250d's... so that's atleast 4500 watts there.. add in my v-12's and i'll be over the 5k range.. i'm going to have me an alternator worked on... i'm not stupid.. lol

2 v-12 amps for mids/highs have both already

2 optima yellow tops+stock battery

heavy duty alt... maybe 2

2 batcap 400's have 1 already

mids/highs i haven't really decided on yet.. my front stage is going to most likely consist of jl xr components 1 in the door and 1 in some kicks.. but i might go with a koda in the door and then a xxx component in the kicks..

i'm going to have about $4500 to work with so i should be good...

...... ok buddy just trying to help 14^3 gross means after port and everything right?? if that is correct then GL. Recommends 7.5^3 ft. after you figure port, sub and box(wood or whatever). Also have you heard so many hard hitting systems ur half deaf? Seriously dude 5000k watts for a daily driver??? You sure the installs you've heard were done proper? thats all I can say bud. If you still feel you need to 18s, then I guess call up re and talk them bout getting them in ur truck. They would prolly be most helpful. hes never heard a xxx he really has no idea what hes in for. my 1 12xxx is too much for me. and 2500 watts is too much unless you turn the gains down

In all honesty...It's just stupid...

I have one in an extended cab dakota in 7.5 cubes NET @32hz with 120in^2 of port. I have a modded mtx 1501d on it...and a VERY stable electrical system (200 amp alt, yellow top under hood, yellow top g31 in rear)...and it kills.

I'd just go with one 18xxx in 8 cubes NET @30hz with like 125 in^2 of port...

im going with two 15" XXXs in a ford f-150 this summer but i think ur over doing it with the power on the subs..maybe run about 3000 or so whats to both.
