Hi All,

I have some oldschool xtant x212s, 2ohms. i had one of them hooked to a kicker 750kx mono amp, playing it loud when it cut out.

the amp kicks into/out of protection when the speaker tries to play at loud volume, but makes some sound at very low volume.

I figured it was done for, and I tried to push the cone in/out to see if i could hear any friction, and upon inspection i found that that about 2 inches of the spider had come 'unstuck' from the basket.

no scratchy noise when moving the cone, btw.

can i simply glue the spider back down with some harcore epoxy and solve the issue? must i re-center it?

what epoxy is good that is readily available at home depot/walmart? i am thinking some 2 part gel stuff.

the amp is fine, it is currently abusing a rental sony craptagon, i am hoping i can get this fixed before i blow up the sony and walmart gets it back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i have another xtant, but i would rather not waste it, and i would love to have them both again if i can ever build a small enough box.

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
