XMax Q!!

i got about 75-100 dollars, i know its not everything but i wanted to see how much xmax this would get me. i know audiobahn alumx is a good bang for the buck sub, but is there any others out there that compare to this sub for the money spl wise?

i hate to say it out loud, but audiobahn alums ****. they have duel 6 ohm voice coils and the cones dent really easy...those two reasons alone are enough to not buy them. if you're interested in audiobahns, check out the 00Q series. They take a lot of power to drive, but they're a very efficient sub and will amaze you for the price.

they also have dual 3 ohm and 12 ohm operation, but i want to know some other subs other than audiobahn that put out close to the same

are the bp 02 series out yet? would they compare with the audiobahn? im sure they will hgave better sq, but does anyone know about these?

I think you'll probably get the most xmax for the money from adire audio, the shiva has 19 (I think) mm of one way true linear excursion for $125...

I don't know what other companies can compete with that.

the JL audio w6v2 has 19mm xmax (I don't know what method they used to measure it, but it's probably fairly accurate) and it costs a ton more than the adire audio shiva.

No, you shouldn't buy a sub just based on Xmax...

The Shiva's got a one-way Xmax of 15.8 ( http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/ShivaWhitePaper-V2.PDF )

Here's some other 12" subs with price and Xmax

Dayton DSQ - $159 - 18.9 mm - http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/295-500.pdf

RE SE 12 - $175 - 16 mm - http://respl.com/12sespecs.html

ED12K - $120 - 16.3 mm - http://edesignaudio.com/ep/kspecs.htm

JL 12W3v2-D2 - $181 - 13.0 mm - http://jlaudio.com/subwoofers/pdfs/12W3v2_MAN.pdf

Kicker L5 - $145 - 12.45 mm - http://kicker.com/ShowPage.cfm?filename=TS_SolobaricL5_4Ohm.html&menu=SUBWOOFERS
