for my money Id take the Kicker......Kicker is solid and reliable

Xenons have a high failure rate and are but ugly

Xenons did have a high failure rate, but that was with their first line-up. They have seemed to improve since then. Quite a viable option really...I just have the kicker and love it. Either amp will be nice.

I do agree though with PG not being what they used to be. Their old stuff was solid as heck.

Doesn't mean anything really. You would be surprised what is made where. MTX used to make stuff for Clarion, the guys who made Audiomobile also made Eclipse subs, Image Dynamics makes stuff for other guys.

The where is much less important than the how they are made.

i had one of the problematic pg amps and i had no problem getting a replacement and the one i got back was brand new and i have absolutely no problems. i like the way they look. pg is coming out w/ a new line and i like the xenons more than i like the look of the new pg stuff coming out.

From a PG rep, It's confirmed. XENONs, and the JL slash series, as well as EXILE, are all made in the same plant in S. Korea.

I don't know if that's true anymore. My last JL Slash amps had a "Made in China" declaration on the boxes while the PG Xenons have "Made in Korea" imprinted.

JL has amps built in both China and Korea:

I'm not sure that even matters. PG, JL and Exile can all specify different parts, different specs, different tolerances. Its just made in the same spot. The recipe determines the quality, not the chef as much.

Just giving an A to the wondering Q from earlier. I feel the same way. To me it's a matter of the Enginering and the quality of the parts used.
