Well, gameinformer had an article about the ps3 being $400 when it releases, and how they will actually lose a billion dollars in the first year because it will cost 470 or something to make, but the second years profits are expected to be like 1.5 billion because parts costs will be down. Sorry I cant get a link but it sure sounds to me like they are planning on 400.

that makes sense, i can't remember the last time i heard of a company actually making a profit, or even breaking even on a consol

PS3 could be at $300 or $400. Sony will be selling them at a loss the first six months to a year just to get Blu-ray players out in the market. So studios realize they need to have their content on it.

For those of you who didn't preorder, how early are you going to camp out?

I live in a relatively smaller town (35k), Best Buy opens @ 10AM. I'm hoping 6AM is early enough...

Just incase, I will drive by at midnight, if any kind of line has formed I'll pull an all-nighter.

*shrug* Best Buy opens at 10 am here, gonna leave the house at 8, stop at target see if they have any, if not go to best buy, if I don't get one, w/e. I live in a fairly large shopping area, so who knows, for all we know there may not be all that many ppl camping at all. Hopefully most ppl preordered and will have 360's waiting for them in the next few shipments to ebgames and gamestop and whatnot.

Got to target at 5am, got my ticket by 6:30 am, came back at 8am and got the system, hardly any waiting, unlike some of these ppl that waited like 3 days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif. Granted it's only a core, I don't really care though, lol, i'll just buy a hd whenever I find one.

Ahh...delicious. I waited in line since 4PM yesterday with my girlfriend, but i managed to snag two of them! I got one premium with 2 games and a wireless controller, and one core with 2 games, a wired controller, and a 20gb hard drive.

I plan on ebay'ing them close to Christmas so i can net a nice $2500+ for each...

They cost me ~$600 a piece.

There not selling at all on eBay.

There are 12,000+ listings for a 360 console and 5,000+ are at or under the $399 asking price. Microsoft knows how it was for Sony and is only playing a game, they've built plenty of them to supply xmas shoppers....
