yeah when someone ask me if they should send it to microsoft i always say yes
but i just repair them for ppl who are to impatient (ive got

yeah, i know what you mean. I'm normally impatient, (ESPECIALLY WITH ME NOW HAVING TO PUT A HOLD ON MY GTA4!!!)

But oh well. I just want it back before I graduate... that way I can start gaming right away //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif lol

i got rrod too. but it was opened when i got it so i cant return it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i had to send in my buddys system for him a couple months back, but since the microsoft repair place is in el paso tx it only took 2 weeks and we had it back playing.

I'm on my 3rd console now - have also had 2 RROD's and purchased my 1st console at launch. It's such a pain to get it replaced, but I've had pretty good luck w/this last one so *hopefully* they have the issue fixed finally.

interesting.... started up just now.... im kinda concerend if its gonna be intermittent like this that they might think it works and just return it.... maybe leave a note in the box telling them to leave it on for a sec and it'll go poopoo?

First one i got the RRoD once, brought it back to wal-mart because i didn't want to **** with it.

Second i bought off ebay refurbished from an ebay store, 2 months 27 days (90 day warranty) till it RRoD'd, shipped it back and have the one I use now. Hopefully I will start fixing them so if it breaks I'll fix it myself.

I have the halo 3 360 the elite and a premium, no RROD here knock on wood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif

Also, if your 360 RRoD's - call 1-800-4MY-XBOX to get everything set up to send yours in...

Then do the towel trick

I know the guy is like gay...but just listen. It works.

Cliff notes are basically unplug EVERYTHING but the power cord, wrap it in 3-4 towels so you can see only the 3 rings (easier this way)

Let it sit for 20-25 minutes, it SHOULD go from 3 lights to 2 lights (meaning it reset due to extreme heat) although mine stayed at 3 lights after 30 minutes so I just turned it off...

Remove the towels and let it cool for 15 minutes (or until cold), plug everything back in and it should start up. Then you have 4-5 days to play again.

As soon as it RRoD's again you should have your box to ship it in, ship it out, wait a week to a week and a half and happy gaming again...

That's what I did. Mine will be here Monday. I sent it the 24th.

Don't do the towel method! Do it right the first time. I fixed my rrod by doing the "x-clamp fix". They are clamps on the mother board that bend the motherboard and break the solders. The fix takes about a day and is well worth it. On a scale of 1-10 on difficulty I would say it is a 7 but it is a 95 percent chance your xbox will be alive again.
