Yea its basically reversed
80% of 360 games are 1080p, 20% 720p or 1080i

80% of ps3 games are 720P, 1080i , 20% 1080p - but they are getting more out there.. .I just find it weird that this Monster of a gaming /entertainment system which plays blu ray has just recently started making good 1080p games... Played MW2 on the same T.V. with an xbox and my buddys Ps3


Needless to say the graphics were better with the 360. HDMI is key.

All ranting aside, I cant wait for the next generation of gaming.. After the knowledge and testing they have done, it should be crazy.. PS4 is supposed to use the same "cell" technology, while the ( xbox 720 ) will be re done bottom up

i still like the ps3 better, idk why... i always thought the graphics were better, and still ps3s hardly ever fail

except for the thousands of 120gb ps3s that were recalled about 2 weeks ago, having hard drive issues, there hasnt been many problems with the ps3. But with the graphics the difference between the two is so little its not a huge factor for me.

Im not sure about sony, but i know the xbox is going to motion control sorta like the wii, at least that what Microsoft has told us about the new "update" they havent said if its going to be an all new system or just an add on for the current 360. I hope they try an add on first then alter it into a new system so they get most of the bugs worked out.

they are both the exact same cpu made by ibm the software that controls them is the biggest difference between the 2

They are both made by IBM, but that is all they have similar.

360 - straight up 3 core 3.2GHz processor function as stand alone processors.

PS3 - CELL processor, it has one Primary Processing Engine that feeds decisions to the 7 Secondary Processing Engines to each handle their own tasks (physics on one, audio on another, video, etc)

The problem with the PS3, since 360 made such a big market hit with its standard Xenon Intel-based chip then developers automatically bid programming out to the 360, so virtually all multi-platform games are being written for the 360, then ported to the PS3, and few of them utilize the features of the CELL processor. Exclusive games like MGS4 and Killzone 2 help push into the CELL better than multi-platform games.

The PS3 has a better processor, but since it's so hard to code for, much worse for non-exclusive titles, then the 360 is actually better performing because of the utilization.

However, the PS3 and 360 have very dissimilar processors. They're much more different from each other than simple software controllers.

Ok here's the real deal. Yes the PS3 has more computing power threw it's cell processing, but the 360 has a better GPU. Which in terms can mean better graphics on some parts, but with the PS3, you can have a cell make up the loss in many areas, graphics, sound, etc. It's just a matter of coding. It's complicated really really complicated.

However most multiplatform are developed on the 360 and simply ported over to the ps3. This is mainly due to the 360s easy architecture, which in terms means it's easier to program for. But there is a con to this, when a ps3 exclusive usually comes out it outshines most of the competetion hence Uncharted 2. It's simply a game of faster release dates and laziness IMO. I feel if their gonna charge 60 dollars for a game that's a lesser than it's opposite for another console, than it should be equally the same. If not charge me 40 for it. Just my thoughts

The 720p's are usually about 4.35gb to 7gb....1080p's are usually 10-12gb....and i have tested my rips up against store bought copies....can not tell a difference...and i use standard dvd-r's...for the bigger files dual layer

noooooo... I said there going to use the "cell" core and base around it, it will give them an advantage in other areas to focus on, since they know so much about the cell, why turn over a good thing.. It more than likely will be a more advanced CELL, but same principals.. ..
