XBL^2 XXX 6.5 Mids......sealed or IB in doors?

Ive got 150w on tap for these babies, and they're going to be doing 80hz-400hz ish. Should I build a small sealed for them and make that fit into my door, or should I just go IB?

Post up the T/S Parameters...

More then likley IB will be your best bet for extention and Q... although there other options for the install then just sealed or IB...

According to winisd the drivers want about .7 cubic feet sealed for a Q of .704 which also gives an f3 of 70hz...

seems to be about what you are looking for.. anything much smaller then that won't be any good.. that is unless you went with an aperiodic membrane type install, or decided to mass load the cones... otherwise it seems like IB is the way to go...

If you mean the original xxx 6.5's, I have a set too. I bought them new years ago and still haven't played with them. IIRC, Haunz is right on the money in that RE's research found large (relatively) sealed was the ideal, but they still perform well IB. Getting .7 cubes in most doors would take significant modification. Although... I have been wanting to try the garden hose method.

edit: hold on to those drivers. 99% of them out these days are the newer style (split coil I think) and the reviews Ive read say the xbl^2 models were the best.
