just a suggestion...you cut down on time/materials (ultimately $$$) if you cut 45's out of scrap mdf rather than the pvc in the corners...

You know, we've done both, and i actually like working with the PVC better. You can do a TON of boxes with an 8 foot piece of PVC, so that justifies the cost. I find it easier to work with as well.

I actually took out my 45 degree MDF pieces out of my competition box and replaced them with PVC

yep thecaraudiobox is the shitznit. i am part owner and we also sell audio equipment. for anyone is the chicagoland area u can catch us at local shows and cruise nites, every sat at steak n shake in orland park. as soon as we get stickers u can juss pick us out of the crowd, cuz our cars will be rockin the logo and name.

better to round off the ends of ports and such... + MDF takes up too much space to do the same thing.

The resin on the outsides basically for extra water protection/dingproofing or something around that. I bought a box from spkrman, it sounds GOOD. Hes been very helpful though and sold me a pair of rear speakers for cheap in my Jeep. You'll be happy if you get a box made from them, but don't think its gonna be as cheap as a prefab Q logic box, especially if its ported.

I still have to compare this box to a prefab box, but this thing bumps.

Sorry about those handles man... I meant to grab them on the way there so they could go *exactly* where you wanted, the box was pretty big so I didnt want to put them on either side (the logical spot) unless you could easily grab both sides.

and actually... I have a prefab 15 box you are more than welcome to test out.. its even ported! Bet ya lose 4+db!

And yea, resin on the outside helps seal the wood up. In some boxes this is a must. It can also give gains in some applications... just like PVC on the outside of the box.
