Wtf?!?!

Ok so my day begins with me thinking im going to go do a nice easy headunit install in my honda. So i start unscrewing and removing things only to find an unusually large abundance of wires //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif . I scratch my head trying to think why theres so many wires when i come upon the strangest thing i have ever found behind a dash. I found the stock headunit wedged in there and all hooked up ready to play //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif . Now can someone please explain to me why somebody would do this? By the way i have only had the car three months as i bought it used.

Well its the stock headunit so its nothing to be excited about but its the strangest thing to me

depending on year some cars have to always have the factory hu installed to use other features as AC or other stuff..if you have a newer honda then id say that was it. if you have like 04 and under then id say they were lazy.

factory honda radio has the integrated keyless entry. you take it out and the keyless door lock will stop working.

97-99 i belive. they had it for only few years.

the green plug behind the radio is the factory keyless entry. and OEM radio has to have 12v to it in order for keyless to work.

or you can install an aftermarket alarm and toss the OEM radio

some hondas cant have the radio removed or stuff wont work. i passed on doinf one of these hondas. too annoying, make sure you dont take it out. an make sure you make sure its off cuz if its on you will hear both or mess something up lol

i have a 97 civic. i pulled it out and my other head unit and stuff works fine and i dont have keyless entry. i can take a pic of the headunit out but i didnt take one when it was jammed in there.

It sounds like Circuit City installed your previous headunit...thats why they are shut down now.....

Lol thats why best buy is better, and thats pretty gross finding a dead rat. I guess hondas are just like giant goodie bags.
