so apparently somehow i blew my alpine type x 12, pushed by an alpine mrd1005. i went into an audio express around here to see exactly what had happened cause it wasnt a typical blow. it sounds like two pieces are like just bumpin againt eachother, and it sounds like hell. so when i took it into there just to see what it may be, they fed me that like the face of the sub came apart from another part of the sub, and now they are pounding against eachother. but it sounded like he was full of shit to me so i dunno.

im not trying to argue the fact that something is wrong with the sub, but just wanting to see if anyone has heard of anything liike that before and may know what it is and what i may be able to do with it if anything.

any input helps. thanks

no its not a scratching, they said more of like the cone breaking away like dcole said. is that repairable whatsoever?

It sounds like a glue joint failure at one place or another, probably not repairable without a complete recone.
