my diamond audio d6's have an aluminum cone, and after a few loud "sessions" i realized that there is a dent in each of the cones of the subs in basically the same spot.....at first i thought it was just a lighting affect. (fiirst time i noticed it was at n

ight) but i felt it and they are really decent little dents....WTF???????????

how did this happen....i never hit them with anything.....

thanks

I can't imagine that having absolutely no contact with anything would have caused your dents...I have an M6mkII (same subwoofer as the D6 but one year older) and have been banging on it pretty freggin' hard since I've had it and haven't had any mysterious 'dents' appear. Are you certain no foreign objects have come into contact with the cone surface?

EDIT: See the responses previous to mine ~ didn't think about that as a possibility.

yea maybe the tinsel leads are hittin, or yea like stated bottoming out.

so bottoming out cud have caused it?? because as far as i know ive never herd them bottom out....unless u mean bottoming out as in playing a note that the sub cudnt play, and in that case yes they have bottomed out a few times....but never herd them actually bottom out, as in magnet hitting the pole.....but one i let my finger bounce off the cone while the subs were hittin hard... i didnt press down, i just let my fingers bounce off...

whatever caused this, what can i do to prevent it again, because it cant be good for the subs.
