i read this in the book my amp came with..i have never heard of this before.

remove all amplifier fuses, and insert the main fuse at the battery. if the fuse does not blow, you can insert the fuse in one of the amplifieres, and we are ready to turn on the system. turn the head unit on. insert a cd and increas the volume. if the system dounds fine. turn off the head unit, and install fuses in the remaining amplifiers, one by one till the complete system is powered up and funcntioning properly..

so basicaly there sayin that if you take the fuse out of your amp and try to turn on your stystem that the power fuse on your + batter will blow if somethings not right?

all they're doing is telling you to take extra precautions. I guarantee most guys here don't do that. I never have in my 20 years around car audio. If something was possibly wrong with your battery and all the fuses were in, it could short the amp(very, very rare). I personally wouldn't worry about it. They just want to tell you how to hook it up with extra precautions in case your a noob.

Heh.. I dont.. I just whip out the old DMM .. if theres voltage and not a zero LOL then were good. usually I dont get a 0 as the first indication theres a short.. The battery usually gets mad, huffs and puffs and blows smoke before you get to bump your house down.

So.. I would recomend following those procedures if your a noob. If your not a noob and this problem still occurs.. Then ide like to have whatever you were on because thats a stupid manuever. Usually shit like that happens because you do know what your doing and are to lazy to take the precautions.
