WTF is ground zero audio?

they are pretty big in Europe if i remember correctly, the GZ that you are talking about and the GZ that I had back pre-2000 are completely different companies.
Sort of completely different companies. Back when you are talking about, there was a GZ Europe (the originial company) and a GZ USA. Back then they sold the same product lines, but they were technically different companies. GZ USA went under (due to the shady owner), GZ Europe did not.

Its not a well known fact these days that the GZ Nuclear was the very first 'super sub' (before the W7, before the IDMax, before.... all of them), a large excursion sub, and it should be credited with starting the whole xmax war. 10 years ago (or so), everyone on the forums wanted a GZ Nuke. In a time when other top of the line subs boasted less than 10mm xmax, the Nuke had 28mm xmax.

Yes, they are high quality products. Yes, they are pricey. No, I wouldn't pay their prices these days.

Yep, they were the originators of the "phat" surround subs back in the early/mid 90's.

at one point I had a GZ Nuke 12, DD9512e, and Shocker Extreme, all lined up for a few comparison shots... this was back in like '03!

the GZ Nuke that I had was great, blew it up off a bd1500d and 5 cube box with 70sq^in of port though :-D

I remember 'back in the day', there was a 'youngster' on the boards (dont remember if it was here or CAF) that had a Nuke, and gave daily updates on it (because he loved listening to people drool over wanting his speaker). I remember he even claimed it broke his windshield, like weekly. That wasn't you, was it Bumpin? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

nah wasnt me, i never broke anything with mine but it did flex my windshield like a bastid in my 92 T-Bird.

If I bragged about it, it would have been on elitecaraudio or termpro or sounddomain.com, i have been registered to those (some now gone) sites since '99.
