I wouldn't say it isn't totally lame......not typically ideal due to the large and sometimes awkward (just realized, awkward is an awkward word to spell) enclosures necessary for them.

But...what "mids and highs" are you referencing? Where are they located?

I agree with you guys, the only plave I have ever seen/heard electro-voice speakers is in p/a systems and at concerts, that's why they can do midrange loud as hell, they are p/a speakers.
