how about the performance of the apx and shw daily? this will be 95% daily, 5% occasional comps, mainly bassrace and bassboxing. ill be listening to it atleast 1hr daily, and want clean lows

My APX was loud as ****!!! and sounded actually really good!! In a box tuned at 32 hz..the lows were awesome!!!

ok cool, thats great to hear someone that has used one before, basically im choosing between the nightshade, apx, and a dd9515g. the DD being the most expensive. anyone use the dd daily with good results off 3kw?

I have not personally used the G motor... but i have heard horror stories of anything above 2500 watts for daily with these subs. And since your going for daily... I would be careful with it

I had a 9918F prototype and anything above 2500 rms would cook it alive....

ok, thats what i was thinking. yeah i see what you mean now. haha, no go on the dd then. at 3000w i was hitting the backplate on anything under 40hz basically with the hd3.

well im not saying the dd would be a bad choice i had a hd312 and hdc12-hdc315 -hdc18 and never had any problems with them

still awaiting a couple PM's, but im pretty sure my choices are the Nightshade, RD SHW, and Atomic. all are in my price range.

hows the excursion though on lower notes? it seemed to lack on the HD3's i had. bottomed out a couple times with ~2kw a piece. and finally cause a fatality when i had 1 on 3kw.

i would rather have something better for daily than something that does numbers @ 50hz ... thats why im thinking the nightshade that has a real smooth response down low.

in the future im definitely going to build a bad *** SPL/Daily, but the funds dont allow that this time. just want to experiment with a nice 18" for daily this time around
